The webmasters (SRY et JJD) of www.kandaki.com have met during a Nepali trekking along the Kali Gandaki river in 1993. The site name is a contaction of the river's name; the Kali Gandaki river is also sometimes called 'Kandaki river'.
Les propretaires du site (SRY et JJD) se sont rencontrés à l'occasion d'un voyage au Nepal en 1993. Le but du voyage était un trek dans la vallée de la riviere Kali Gandaki. Le nom du site est donc la contraction du nom de cette riviere qui nous a porté chance puique nous avons uni nos destins 2 ans apres! La Kali Gandaki est également quelquefois appelée 'Kandaki'. |

Dakka Temple
It was constructed by the Nubian King Argamon in 250 B.C. This temple has a special historic importance, because there the Roman army fought against Nubian forces under the leadership of a woman called Kandaki in 23 B.C. This woman became so famous that her name became the title of all Nubian queens. |

The Land of Gold, tells an enchantingly simple tale of Kandaki, a young Nubian princess, whose parents have been murdered by the captain of their guard. The captain sets himself up as the new king, imprisoning all of the loyal nobles. He sends Kandaki off to be sacrificed to the god of the marshes. She is chained to a column in the middle of a lake, but is saved from the monster by Prahotep who, with his friend Baki and Hathor is searching for other dragons. |
